Sunday was October 1st and that means the aspens in Colorado are turning beautiful colors! Justin and I decided to drive to Divide, Colorado to see the trees. Mueller State Park is located right outside the town of Divide and it is gorgeous any time during the year, but especially right now!

After getting our map from the visitor's center, we decided to do the Cahill Pond Loop. The trail was the featured trail of the month on their bulletin board, so we knew it was gong to have great views of all the aspen trees. This trail features beautiful views, Cahill Pond, Cahill cabin and even old bootlegger stills in some of the trees.

Overall, I felt the trail was easy and only moderate in some places. The whole first half of the trail is downhill and leads to spectacular views of Pikes Peak and valleys of aspens. Once you reach the pond the rest of the way is a moderate incline back up to the parking area, but nothing too tough. The trail is about 2.7 miles roundtrip and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to experience fall in Colorado!
