I recently received an Instant Pot for my birthday and while I was super excited about it, I was also nervous to use it. The Instant Pot has many different features and there are recipes to make almost anything. After I followed the instructions and did the initial water test, I decided to brave making hard boiled eggs. This recipe just requires eggs and water! It is different than cooking hard boiled eggs in a pot because you don't have to sit and wait for the water to boil. It is also an easy recipe for Instant Pot beginners to gain confidence in how to use their pot.

Here is what you'll need:
Instant Pot with steamer rack inside
6-8 eggs
1 cup water
Bowl of cold water
1. After inserting the steamer rack into the Instant Pot, add one cup of water. The water level should still be beneath the steamer rack.
2. Add eggs to steamer rack. It doesn't matter how you place them. I put 6-8 eggs for this recipe, but you can put as many eggs will comfortably fit in the steamer rack.
3. Put the lid on the Instant Pot and make sure the steaming vent is closed.
4. Choose "Manual" and make sure it is on More Pressure and set the timer to 3 minutes
5. Once the Instant Pot timer goes off, let it sit for two minutes and then do a quick release
6. Put the eggs into a cold bowl of water for a few minutes
Your eggs are finished! They should peel easily and be perfectly hard boiled. If you'd like a softer yolk, you can adjust the cooking time or time letting the Instant Pot manually release.
